More to come on this but I just had to write out some priceless Little Manisms. When asked what Jackson is thankful for he says, every time, "On Thanksgiving I am thankful for all of my cars." Then he asked Darrin and I, "What is the best part of Thanksgiving?" when we asked what it was he said, "Football! It's not Thanksgiving without football!" Thanks Charlie Brown!
And the more to come...
Jackson was so excited for the big Turkey Day that he woke up and changed into his favorite shirt, shorts, and "I even put on my undies!!!" We had to break it to him that we still had about seven hours to go. Luckily football was on and he helped me make a pie, terribly ugly and weird but tasty. We also made a cute bouquet with the few still blooming flowers and some fall leaves. Jack did the arranging and was fabulous at it. Maybe he has a future in the flower world, after race car driver and the latest, school nurse. School nurse comes from his harrowing experience of being stung by a bee. The poor bee get stuck in his hair/collar and stung him. Poor Jackson was totally inconsolable for over an hour. I came to school and had lunch. For future reference the only way to treat a bee sting in a four year old is ice cream.
Back to Thanksgiving...
We went to some friends house and had a great time. Alli started out sad and shy as we woke her up fro a nap to go but she warmed up and got crankin' fairly quickly. Jackson jumped right in and started playing with his buddy, Ashton. Or, Ashton's toys and Ashton when necessary for a particular storyline. They are both obsessed with cars and for once the trains were not even fought over, it was more a battle of who could empty the most Matchbox cars on the floor of every room in the house. It was a tie.
We had great food, great company, and came home too tired and fat to move. But, we managed to get the kids to bed, tag team style. Darrin took Jack and I got Alli. The twist came when Jack asked to sleep in our bed. There is simply not enough room for all of us in there so I gave up my side and they are, as I type, slumbering away in there. Me? I slept on Jacks' bed and this would have been fine if I would have slept at all. Alli has a cold and on top of that was overtired and slept terribly. Terribly is an understatement and I am too tired to think of something more appropriate. Our day began officially at about 4:45. There has been dog feeding, baby feeding, and the return of the mysterious tinyish dog poops which Alli likes to...well...you figure it out. Good morning and Happy Day after Thanksgiving!
